Yarmarka Folk Dance Group is awarded with Certificate of Honour for exceptional service to Oxford City
Bob Price, Leader of Oxford City Council, awarded Viktor Kuzminov, Art Director of Yarmarka, with the Certificate of Honour at the gala performance during the International Folk Festival that took place in Oxford, Perm’s sister city.
In 2015 Perm and Oxford celebrate the 20th anniversary of their twinning, and these 20 years have seen Yarmarka Folks Dance Group participate in a number of cultural events, festivals and activities that two sister cities hosted.
In spring 2015 Oxford Council City invited Yarmarka to take part in the International Folk Festival and encouraged it to perform on various stages across the city.
The festival’s programme featured Yarmarka’s gala performance in Oxford City Hall that attracted a lot of participants and visitors of the festival.
The highlight of the event was awarding Perm’s dance group with the Certificate of Honour as a mark of recognition for the exceptional service to Oxford City. It is for the first time that this award has been given to a performance group as well as to foreign citizens.
